Well, I have to disagree with the Old Guy's review. I have always smoked Marlboro 100's and started looking around for a less expensive brand. Tried the Bridgeport FF a couple of months ago and liked them. They seem a bit 'skinnier' than the Marlboro, but not enough to matter. Suggested to my sister to switch from Basic Mentol to the Bridgeports. The Old Guy's review said they were made in Brazil. The ones I get are made in the Phillipines. Perhaps he should try a pack of mine? Kathy M.
Bridgeport Menthol King: Made in Brazil. Length:
3 ¼ inches, 83 mm; filter ¾ inch, 20
mm. The tobacco, made of mostly light-to-medium brown
flakes, compressed about 1/16 of an inch in our tamp-down
test. One piece of stem was found in the mix. The
Old Guy got down right irritated about this one.
He said it went down "really rough" and
tasted like burnt popcorn. The best thing about it,
said he, was that it burned faster than most and
that it wasn't a 100. (He always smokes a cigarette
short enough to blister his lips...or to burn cellulose,
whichever comes first. So he was evidently glad this
one got to that point quickly.) He did NOT care for
it! (In the interest of staying on his good side,
we probably won't offer him any other styles in the
brand.)

Bridgeport Full Flavor King: Made in Brazil. Length:
3 ¼ inches, 83 mm; filter ¾ inch, 20
mm. The tobacco is a mix of predominately medium-brown
flakes, with just a few bits of light and dark throughout
and a few ribbons. It compressed about 1/6 inch in
the tamp-down test. One piece of stem and one scrap
of paper were found in the sample. The Old Guy was
kind of on the fence with this one. He found nothing
wrong with either the draw or the drag, but he felt
it burned too quickly. He felt the overall taste
left a bit to be desired and was quite weak for a
full flavor. There was also a noticeable hint of
vanilla in it. However, it left no unpleasant aftertaste.
His final words of advice would be to give this brand
a shot.

Made in Colombia, Broncos Kings and 100's are available in Full Flavor, Light, UltraLite, Menthol, and Menthol Lite.
MENTHOLS:
Some who prefer a strong menthol taste say the menthols
are too light. Other menthol smokers like them
just fine.
One member reports that after sampling one of the Full Flavor Menthol, the Broncos were their brand of choice.
Other smokers' opinions: "I was lucky enough to have someone give me a pack of BRONCO menthol lights cigarettes . . . . They taste just as good as my old cigarettes, Virginia Slims, and cost me a lot less!"
"I purchased a carton of Bronco Menthol and I have to wonder why I had smoked Newports for so long. The Broncos taste, smoke and burn like a premium cigarette. . . The smoothness and lack of harshness plus the perfect blend of menthol have hooked me."
Bronco Lites:
"I have smoked Marlboro light 100s for years.
Recently, I tried Bronco light 100s and find that
they compare to the Marlboros at a much better cost."
Bronco Full Flavor:
from a Marlboro Red smoker: "not quite Marlboro, but not bad."
"I thought Bronco was a very good cigarette, essentially similar to Marlboro FF but burns more slowly than a Marlboro. It has a strong, full-bodied smoke but I do not think it is any stronger than Marlboro."
from Al M:
"
I tried the Full Flavors and I liked them. It has
a nice smooth taste and I would say Full Flavor tastes
similar to Marlboro Red. Two thumbs up from me!"
from DCSG:
"A product of Colombia, made under the authority
of Sun Tobacco, LTD. Length: 3 5/16 inches, 84 mm;
filter 1 inch, 24 mm. The tobacco is a standard blend
of light-to-medium brown flakes (with a few ribbons)
and nothing unusual was found in the mix sampled.
It also compressed about 1/8 inch in the tamp-down
test. The Old Guy found nothing wrong with this one.
It had a fine drag and a smooth draw. He was pleased
with the taste, too. It had just enough boldness
for him, with maybe just a touch of vanilla that
was not overpowering. He said it left no unpleasant
after-taste at all and burned at just the right rate.
The Old Guy has already finished the pack he got
from us and looks forward to getting more."

Calon Full Flavor King -
Made in Brazil, under the authority of Tobacco
Holdings, USA (the maker of the Bridgeport brand),
the Calon king is more or less a standard full
flavor (filtered) smoke. It measures 3 1/4 inches
long (83 mm), with a white cellulose filter of
13/16 inches (21 mm). When we tamped the cigarette,
we gained about 1/16 inch compression. The tobacco
blend is just slightly darker, overall, than
most "American blends", and we found
no foreign material in the mix of ribbons and
flakes. The draw was easy and the burn rate about
average. In our opinion, there is nothing wrong
with this one...if you normally smoke a full
flavor style, it should compare favorably with
your current premium brand. And at about a third
the price. We can't be sure of which flavor additives
are added, as we were unable to detect any. This
lack of "smoothing" agents (like chocolate,
vanilla, or the like) may be a turn-off if you
normally smoke the "cowboy" brand,
but on the plus side, we found no harsh or bitter
aftertaste.
-DCSG review
Calon Menthol King -
We found the tobacco mix to be about the standard "American
blend" of light, medium and dark leaf, and we
found no foreign material mixed with the tobacco.
The strength of the menthol flavor was just right
for our taste, which is to say it was relatively
light...perhaps a 4 on a scale of 1 to 10, with 10
being the highest strength menthol. The tobacco flavor
was light, also...rather surprising in a "full
flavor" menthol style. The burn rate was relatively
fast and the draw was easy. There was no unpleasant
or harsh aftertaste. Not a bad smoke, except for
those who like their menthol and tobacco flavor strong.
If you normally smoke a light menthol, you might
give this style of Calon a try.

All I can say is YUCK! The menthol 100 is very dry
and unpleasant. I couldn't even smoke a whole one!
I gave the rest of the pack to a neighbor who's
always bumming cigarettes, and he hasn't asked
me for a cigarette since! My husband says the nonmenthol
are bad, too. Tucsons remain our brand!

The Menthol Light 100s are the best menthol cigarette
that Smokin' Joe makes, for my taste. Smoother
and less harsh than their other menthols and the
strength is of a 'light'.
- Bill
I tried Exact Menthol Full Flavor 100's several
months ago. I thought when I tried them for the first
time there was a different taste, but not altogether
unpleasant. After a couple of days I did not even
notice the difference between them and the brand
I smoked previously. I have enjoyed them very much.
If you smoke generic or native cigs, you should try
these. They are a great value at a great price!

GT-One includes a Non-filter choice! It tends to be a milder cigarette and is preferred by some smokers for that reason.
Al:
"
Full Flavors are a tad bit lighter than what I am
used to smoking. Otherwise not too bad."
One smoker, comparing the GT-One with Senecas said:
"I have only smoked a pack or two of the GT
ONE and found it a bit too light for my taste."
Other smokers' comments:
GT-One FF Menthol Lights -
"They are wonderful. These cigarettes are the
smoothest I ever smoked. They don't burn fast at
all. I can compare them to a Salem light but a bit
lighter and mintier. I love them. They are my new
brand! "
GT One FF Menthol 100's -
"I've found my new brand! As a former Marlboro
smoker, I despaired of ever finding a lower-cost
cigarette that could compare. . . They're really
excellent. Smooth and rich with a good menthol flavor,
they don't burn too quickly and draw easily."
DCSG review:
GT One Menthol 100's - The tobacco is made of mostly
large light-to-medium flakes, and nothing foreign
was found in the sample. The Old Guy thought this
was a surprisingly good smoke. He was pleased with
the way it went down (not rough at all), and it
didn't burn too fast. The flavor was not at all
overwhelming with menthol (which, as we know, he
doesn't usually care for), but it was bold enough
for even him to be impressed with. He also found
absolutely no unpleasant aftertaste, almost as
if he didn't smoke it all. This one he would give
about a "7"on a scale to ten, and he
would definitely recommend it as a good choice
for an economical "everyday" brand.

Generally thought to be a good tasting smoke. It has been said that Lewiston Ultra Lights are similar to Kent Lights.

Soft pack and box, made by the Tuscarora Indians, the mankers of the well-known Smokin' Joe brand, but they are NOT additive-free.
Market cigarettes have had some very good reviews.
Some smokers' comments:
"I have been smoking Camel lights for as long
as I can remember. I was very impressed by Market's
flavor. I'll definitely buy Markets again."
"My wife and I both went to Market Lights 100s. They have flavor - not the Pall Mall I used to smoke. I adapted very well to them. My wife used to skip from this light to that, but we have both settled on Market Lights 100s as the best for both our tastes."
"Not good at all. Their menthol lights are quite harsh and have a bitter aftertaste."
"The Menthol Light 100s are a decent cigarette. The menthol and menthol aftertaste are only slightly too strong...not enough to ruin the cig. The strength is a notch above light."
Market Menthol King:
About 1/8 inch of tobacco compressed in the tamp-down
test, and the smoke burned at a normal rate. The
tester thought this one was very good; it has an
easy drag and a smooth draw. The flavor, he said,
was good and strong with no lingering bad aftertaste.
He says he'd recommend this one to anyone serious
about bold menthol flavor at a good price.

NATIVE is made by Native Trading Associates in the Mohawk Nation Territory, this brand is Additive-Free.
Native is said to be best in Menthols and Full Flavor. NATIVE Menthol gives you a blast of Menthol. The NATIVE brand gets many rave reviews. . .
Al said:
"This brand is highly recommended! I love Native
and have been smoking the Full Flavor for 6 years

The Menthol tastes great too! "
Another smoker said:
"I decided to try the NATIVE Brand and they
are really really good. I also ordered them for my
daughter...She was a Camel Light smoker..and we all
know how hard a Camel smoker is to break! Well she
got her cigarettes and before the month was out she
ran out of smokes waiting for her autoship to arrive.
She went to the store and bought her usual Camels.
What she said even shocked me!. She said, 'Mother
when is my autoship coming? These Camels taste awful!'
She is sold and so am I."
And more reviews :
"I have recently had several Carlton smokers
who tried the "Native" and loved them.
They were especially pleased with the idea of smoking
an All Natural & Additive Free blend."
"NATIVES are as good or better than any national brand and the menthols are exceptional."
"I smoked Winston and Camel (Camel Wides when they came out ) all my life. I can tell you that after smoking a carton of Native Full Flavor, I will not go back to Camels or Winston. I will not smoke a bad cigarette to save money. Dont need to. The Native smoke is real close to the Winston."
"I've been smoking 30 years. Started with Dunhill ff menthol, then went to Kool ff menthol. Today I had my first pack of Natives. A decent smoke, and strong enough to replace my Kools if I wanted them to. It packs down nice and stays a solid cigarette, with very few pieces of tobacco left floating around the pack or the cigarettes themselves. A word of advice: They are a STRONG, FULL FLAVOR MENTHOL LIKE KOOL, so if you smoke Newports, Salems or anything light, don't smoke full flavor Natives, as you won't like them."
"I think Natives All Natural cigarettes are the best cigarette for value on the market. I have smoked for over 30 years and I have always smoked Marlboros, but now I would not change from Native. I have been smoking them for a few months and I love the idea of no additives and also that they have taste. Not even talking about the price."
"I smoked Kent Golden Light Kings for over 25 years. . . The Natives are nicely packed and the taste and draw are excellent. There is no harshness at all. I believe the fact that there are no additives in these cigarettes makes a tremendous difference."
"The best cigarette on the market! It will take time to get used to the lack of additives, but from that point, nothing but Native will do. I smoked Marlboro for ten years and can't stand them after a real cigarette."

Niagara Full Flavor has a smooth, strong flavor. Marlboro Red smokers like these smokes a lot. Niagara's Lights taste like Marlboro Light Kings or Winston Light 100's. Niagaras get good general reviews from most smokers. But there are exceptions:
"I would have prefered to roll up used coffee grinds and smoke them through a smelly tube sock then have another Niagara."
More smokers' reviews:
Al said:
"Good tasting cigarette. A little on the strong
side. Compares well to Marlboro, though I will say,
that Niagara seems to leave a bit of an after-taste."
Another:
"The Niagara Lights taste exactly like a Marlboro
Light King."
And another about LITES:
"I used to smoke Barclays but I'm satisfied
with the Niagara lights now. Been smoking for 35years."
"I used to smoke Winston and Camel filters on a regular basis. I tried the Niagara FF Kings, and there's no going back. The true tobacco flavor of Niagara is completely satisfying. I smoke less/enjoy more...at a fraction of the cost. My daughter and son-in-law have switched to the Niagara Lights. They've now gone through about 15 cartons, and they tell me they won't buy Marlboro Lights again...not because of the price, but because of the flavor."
"I decided to give Niagaras a try. I was used to smoking Camel Lights or Winston lights, but the full flavor Niagaras were so great I didn't even bother to try the lights."
"I have been smoking Newport 100s for over 15 years, but I switched to Niagara Menthol Kings. I find them to be smoother tasting, longer burning, and a great price!"

Roger Cigarettes have been compared favorably to Marlboros. Many say there's no better tasting cigarette on the market than the Rogers.
One smoker who tried them all tells us all the flavors taste good.
Most similar to Benson & Hedges & Marlboro.
Menthol Lights - similar to Salem.
Menthol Full Flavor similar to Kools.
Ultralight smokers find these mild with no difficulty
drawing. Similar to Marlboro Lights.
Similar to Marlboro in BOTH the Full Flavor & Lights.
ROGER MENTHOL - better than Newport or GPC and Smoother!
Some smokers' comments on Rogers:
"I was a Marlboro light smoker and a Merit smoker
for years, until the price went sky-high. Then I
discovered Roger cigarettes and the price behind
them. They burn like a full priced smoke and have
a great taste! "
"A very light cigarette. I usually smoke Merit Lights, and find the Roger Lights didn't have quite as much flavor."
"I just tried a pack of Roger full flavor kings. Fantastic! I've recently been smoking Niagara full flavor kings - good, but strong. After some trial and error in the world of 'value' cigarettes, Roger is the one for me. They do taste like Marlboro!"
"After smoking Benson & Hedges Menthol
Light or Marlboro Menthol Light for nearly 20 years,
I was really excited to find the Roger brand offered
in OrderSmokesDirect's Feature Brands. Roger is almost
identical to Marlboro... very high quality!! Plus
they are available in the crush proof box! I'm saving

of brands I tried, although "Lights" smoking

Note: "OPAL 120's" are now Seneca 120's!
Also known as New York Senecas (and some mis-spell them as Senaca cigarettes) they are very popular for their low price and high quality, AND because they are Additive-Free. This cigarette is Native American-made in Canada.
One smoker said:
"They have a robust, but smooth taste. I smoke
them now and the last major brand I smoked was Winston
Lights. The full flavor Senecas are smoother than
the Winston and very satisfying."
Another smoker comments:
"I smoke the Senaca menthol ultra lights, and
they taste just like Salem ultra lights."
Yet another smoker on the Senecas:
"I have smoked the NY Senecas on a regular basis
and can say this: They compare very favorably to
Marlboro & Winston. You'll find the Seneca (and
all the All Natural / Additive Free Blends) have
a more full bodied tobacco flavor. They have done
an excellent job of blending premium tobaccos to
match the flavor of the more expensive Premium Brands
without using chemicals and flavoring additives to
mask the tobacco or manipulate the taste. I've had
a number of folks tell me they actually had withdrawal
symptoms switching from smokes with chemicals and
additives to the additive free blends."
Al's opinion:
"Pretty good! Tastes different than what I'm
used to smoking but in a good way! Definitely a "Premium" tasting
cigarette."
Another comments:
"Although the cigarettes are well made and burn
slowly, the full flavor cigarettes are very light.
Smokers who prefer a light cigarette will find the
full flavor Senecas to their liking." Most commentaries
indicate that the Senecas tend to the "light
side." Menthol Light is pretty close to a Menthol
Ultralight in Premium Brands.

I've switched from Parliaments over to the Sincerely
Yours light 100's and am saving a lot of money. My
husband likes them, too, but he won't smoke them
except at home because he doesn't want his friends
to see him carrying a pink pack of cigarettes.
- Cathy
I switched from Misty & Basic Menthol Light
100 to the Sincerely Yours Menthol Light 100s and
thought they were simply awful. The menthol was even
stronger than Misty's; the tobacco taste was very
weak, the draw was heavy. I thought the cigarette
was extremely harsh.
- Tricia
Sincerely Yours Lights 100's:
Made in the USA. The tobacco mix is a standard blend
of medium-brown ribbons and flakes, and nothing
unusual was detected in it. About 1/16 inch compressed
in the tamp-down test. First, our tester was a
bit put off by the appearance of the pack; it seemed
to look a bit too much like a "girl's smoke" to
him. But he got over that once he tasted it. He
was surprised by the rich, bold flavor of this "light" brand.
He said the draw was easy, and it went down nice
and smooth. He did say he would like for it to
burn a bit more slowly. No matter, though, because
he really liked this one.

Smokers' comments:
We are on our tenth carton of Sixty1's, Full Flavor
100's, which we tried because they are the cheapest
smoke we've found to date. This is a very smooth,
flavorful smoke with no off aftertaste. Sixty1's
are much less harsh than many other Super-Value brands
we've tried, including Yours, Sincerely Yours, Smokin'
Joes and others in that class. The cigarettes are
well made without chunks or holes, or being loosely
packed. The only down side we've found to this brand
is the filter...it will burn in a heartbeat if you
don't carefully snuff it out before the fire hits
that yellow band! Keep your car ashtray cleaned out,
as leaving a burning cigarette in the holder can
easily set fire to any piled up filters left in it.
But don't let the incindiary filter put you off trying
this brand, which is made in the Philippines from
American tobacco. It's a heck of a good smoke for
a rock-bottom price!
- K.H.
Ordered a carton of Sixty 1 Menthol Lights 100 because
of the great price while ordering a carton of Newport's
for my sister. I read the great reviews on the Full
Flavor 100's here, so I thought it would be worth
the try. NOT! Not certain if I got a bad carton,
but Sixty 1 Menthol Lights have no menthol taste
at all! The first two puffs, you get that great menthol
taste and the rest of the cigarette tastes like a
Full Flavor regular cigarette and I hate those! It
also tastes as if you're smoking charcoal or a firecracker.
Sixty 1 may make a great Full Flavor smoke, but they
are awful at Menthol. Now I have to see if I can
try and pawn off the remaining 6 packs that I have
to someone. For your best bet at a discount Menthol,
I HIGHLY recommend Homer Menthols or Infinity Menthol
Lights 100.
- PeaJay
If you are still a full flavor smoker, and want
something with a little kick, Sixty One's (called
Sixty's in some places) are the brand to go with.
I smoked full flavor Camel Wides and nothing quite
came up to what I wanted until I tried these. To
compensate for lack of wides, I order the full-flavor
100s, and it is exactly like smoking a Camel. I read
a review that says the filters burn, but that must
have been some sort of mix-up, because these filters
do not burn, even when I forget to snuff one out.
The cigarettes are packed nice and tight, so the
coals don't fall out as much as some others I've
tried. So if you want full flavor in a value cigarette,
I highly recommend Sixty One's.
- Marti C.
Sixty 1 Full Flavor King:
This brand is manufactured in the Philippines from
tobacco imported from the U.S.A. The "tamp
down" test resulted in very little compression...about
1/16 inch. The tobacco was about 90 percent medium
brown, and mostly finely cut ribbons. We found
no foreign material in the mix. This cigarette
is quite strong, too strong in fact, for our personal
taste. And there was a definite sharpness to the
smoke, leaving a sensation in the back of the throat
like one is coming down with a sore throat. Perhaps
it was intended for beer drinkers, because after
each draw, we automatically reached for one to
cool down the throat. The draw was a bit harder
than most, which makes sense considering the minimal
compression resulting from tamping.

Made in the U.S.A. Length: 3 7/8 inch, 98 mm; filter
1 1/4 inch, 31 mm. The tobacco is the standard
mix, and one piece of stem was found in the sample.
It compressed about 1/16 inch in the tamp-down

wasn't disappointed with this one. He thought the
draw and drag were just fine, and there was just
the slightest unpleasant aftertaste. He thought
the flavor, though undoubtedly menthol, was a bit

quickly. However, he would more than likely smoke

Made in the U.S.A. by a small independent, the reviews are calling the Tucsons a truly great tasting, high quality smoke!
Tucson 100 Full Flavor:
Our "tamp down" test yielded about 1/8
inch compression. Renegade Tobacco Co., Winston-Salem,
NC appears to be a truly independent maker. Also,
we're not aware of any other brands they might be
making. We can say, however, that their effort with
the Tucson brand is very, very good. The tobacco
in the cigarette is medium to dark in color, and
is nearly all long-cut ribbons. We found no stem
chunks or any foreign material mixed in.
All in all, we are really enthusiastic about Tucson.
It has been a while since we've tried a new brand
that we liked as much. It is not yet being carried
by many of the online dealers, and your chances of
finding it in your local supermarket are still pretty
close to zip. But, if you're looking for something
that costs about half (or less) of your current premium
brand-and tastes and smokes every bit as good-you
should make the effort to try this one. A definite " thumbs
up." (We tried the Menthol Light, too. It's
just as good.)"

Smokers' Reviews of Tucsons:
"Fantastic! Everything about this brand screams 'Premium'. Taste is top-notch... very much like the Viceroy brand I am accustomed to smoking or Marlboro/Camel/Winston types that I buy when I'm forced to shell out for them. The Tucson FF is very smooth... a little lighter than some other FF, but with a good draw and excellent flavor."
Our friend Al says:

Smokers' Reviews:
In the past few weeks I've been trying different
brands of value smokes trying to find one that gave
me the full flavor and strong smoke of my regular
brand Kool FF Mentol Kings. Today I tried Wave FF
Mentol Kings. They were good...strong enough to statisfy
my needs in a smoke, but the only problem I had with
them was the filter. I hate it when cigarette manufacturers
add that quarter inch of paper just after the filter
so they can print their name. It gives you that much
less smoke, and to me anything that gives you less
smoke in the cigarette is a waste. I feel like I'm
being cheated out of 1 or 2 smokes per pack.
Liz T.
I used to smoke Marlboro menthol until the price
skyrocketed,so now I'm trying some of the cheaper
ones. Waves are pretty good--I got the menthol 100s--but
still not quite in the class as Marlboros. They're
not quite as smooth and mellow, but still a pretty
good smoke. When you factor in the price, they start
tasting even better! The only real complaint I have
about them is the very odd orange filter. I know
it's supposed to look like cork, but it just looks
weird! Definitely worth a try, and a brand I'll buy
again.
Bob P.
Tried the Menthol light, and it's a pretty good
smoke - although I don't care for the cork-colored
filter. The menthol is a little on the strong side...kind
of like a Kool. The ultra-light might be better for
me.

price went up I've been looking for another brand.
I ordered a carton of YOURS cigarettes, and after
I smoked the first one I thought it wasn't bad. After
the second and third cigarette, however, they got
this really strong pungent taste. I'm sure it's the
chocalate they add to them. What's up with adding
candy to the cigarette? I much prefer Sonomas over
this brand any day.

I taste-tested Yours against Checkers, Seneca Cayuga,
Market and Exact and I thought Yours was the best.
I used to smoke Basic, but I immediately liked the
Yours better, and I'm saving about $40.00 a month
now.

Yukon FF Box -
The Tobacco Holdings company, based in Miami, Florida,
has authorized the manufacture of the Yukon brand
in Uruguay. (Among other brands it distributes
are the Bridgeport and Calon brands.) The Yukon
full flavor king is 3 1/4 inches (83 mm) in length,
with a white 3/4 inch (20 mm) filter. The tobacco
mix in the cigarette appears to be a fairly standard
combination of light, medium and dark leaf, cut
in slightly more coarse ribbons and flakes than
we usually see. We were able to compress the
tobacco about 1/16 of an inch by tamping it,
and we found no foreign material in the tube
we dissected. The draw is easy; the cigarette
burns pretty quickly. We found the tobacco flavor
to be about right for an "American blend" of
tobacco, with no unpleasant harshness or aftertaste.
At the low price for these smokes, we would highly
recommend any full flavor smoker to give it a
try.
